South Africa didn't quite make heavy weather of their 49-18 win against Tonga in Marseille on Sunday night, but the feeling existed that they should have got more out of what was a crucial game for them.

The bonus point win where they scored seven tries was sufficient to move them to the top of Pool B with 15 points, but they couldn't get past Ireland's points difference of +122, with SA's being +117.
