The South African Football Association's (SAFA) head of referees, Abdul Ebrahim, hit out at coaches and critics who have questioned the standard of officiating in the country, telling coaches to focus on their job and leave referees to the body responsible for match officials.
In a month where officials have come under heavy scrutiny following a number of questionable decisions, Ebrahim insisted that the state of refereeing in South Africa is in good health.
During that period, SAFA suspended referee Tshidiso Mkhwanazi for six weeks and placed him in a rehabilitation programme to work on his mistakes.
