Cape Town - Absa Premiership side Polokwane City have confirmed that defender Mogau Tshehla has died in a car accident on Monday night.
The 26-year-old right-back - who played in the team's last fixture in the Nedbank Cup against Ubuntu Cape Town last week - joined Rise and Shine in January 2017 from NDF side Witbank Spurs having signed on a three-year deal.
The club announced the news on its Twitter account with many other clubs sharing heartfelt messages across social media.
"It is with our deepest sorrows that we inform you of the death of our Defender Mogau Tshehla in a car accident," the statement read. "Our thoughts are with the family, team-mates and friends.
"Psalm 37:39: But the salvation of the righteous is of the Lord: he is their strength in the time of trouble."

Wow.. No words describe how we feel at this news. Incredibly surreal... Just last week he was on the pitch with us. We may banter a lot on Twitter, but on and off the field we're one football family. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the entire @polokwane_city family. Be strong. https://t.co/jLe2KKgnoY
