Cape Town - Rain claimed its 10th abandonment of the 2018/19 CSA T20 Challenge season after the round eight encounter between basement sides the Knights and the Dolphins was called off without a ball being bowled in Bloemfontein on Wednesday.

In what has been a campaign drenched by rain, more than 150mm has fallen in the Free State capital in less than a week, leaving the Mangaung Oval at times under water.

Even though it was not raining at toss time, the field was still unplayable, leaving the umpires little option but to send the players back home.

It was the fifth abandoned game for the winless hosts this season out of the eight they were meant to play, leaving them bottom of the table on 10 points.

A fourth washed out fixture for the visitors left them two points better off with two matches to play.
