If the Bulls' main aim from this top-of-the-table United Rugby Championship (URC) clash was to gauge where they stood in comparison to the competition's serial table-toppers Leinster, the words drawing and board come to mind.

Jake White's charges - second to the Irish side by four points on the table - going into the match, tried valiantly but in the end they were out-thought, out-fought and out-played. Having put in a first half which stuck to the script written by the Pretoria franchise's director of rugby and ended up in the lead by a slender two points, the Bulls couldn't find the extra gear needed to stay with a classy Leinster outfit, which grew in control and intensity the longer the match went.
