There's falling at the last hurdle, there's doing so repeatedly, and then there's simply not knowing how to get to the prize when it's right in front of you.

That's the case of the University of Cape Town Ikeys under Tom Dawson-Squibb, who lost their second Varsity Cup final when they went down 27-25 to the North-West University Eagles in Potchefstroom on Monday.

The final loss was the Ikeys' fourth showpiece defeat to go with two successes from 2011 and 2014, both away from home.
